Thanks Igor

And you are right, I have removed the silly copy protection.

Good luck with your Drupal or Joomla choice.

I've read up on the Drupal vs. Joomla issue for the past few days, and found this review very informative and down to the fact approach with the table is great. The methodology is great too. My initial uninformed choice was Drupal as a more technical platform, but the more I know, the less I can make a clearcut choice :). I read somewhere that Joomla is for entrepreneurs who just want to make things work, which is where I am, but the flip side is that I want my future website to be also flexible and able to grow easily, which goes into the Drupal segment. I guess I'll just take your advice and spend some time with both platforms and make a decision then.
As a Post Scriptum, Owen, and this is just my 2 cents, I find the "copy protection" a bit unnecessary as it prevents spell checks in the Comments field. This copy protection doesn't really work as it's front end only, and it's a walk in the park to just use the source page for copying out stuff, so, my 2 cents, scrap the protection, it only puts off comments and sends an "I keep my distance from you all" message which I am sure is not your intention.

Very interesting statistical analysis... I personally love the Drupal's core, because it is rediculiously stable when deployed and established properly. However, I really like Joomla as well because of the looks and the visual presentations. Of course Drupal can be skinned to be as interactive as Joomla, but it takes much more work and effort to integrate the headers and such. There are many great templates for Drupal and Joomla at NetSectors... http://www.netsectors.com Also, make sure you got the right host for any of these instalations. If the host does not support the core system, it's pointless to spend time configuring the sites. Hackers love to hit the databases on these sites, so make sure you got your setup right and files secured on the server to no lose your database.

Good Luck!

Some interesting stats Owen.

As a regular provider of Joomla websites to clients, I guess we've become blinkered and haven't really considered alternatives based on certain areas of clients needs. We tend to customise Joomla to resolve some of it's little 'features'!

Drupal is something on things to learn in 2010 list.

Thanks, Owen.
I was looking for an updated comparison. Your is very detailed and informative.
I will go with Drupal, for stability and documentation reasons.

This is excellent and will be put in my reference file. I have not had the opportunity to develop a Drupal site yet, but am very curious about relative strengths and weaknesses. Based on what I've seen on the net and in conversation with Drupal users, there's quite a gap in:
-Price of commercial templates (Joomla average $30 and Drupal average perhaps $250)
-Attractiveness of commercial templates, in my opinion, are definitely in favor of Joomla. Check http://www.rockettheme.com/ as a good example.

The back end matters to you and me. The front end matters to the rest of the world.

Glad to see you backing up your conclusions with sound numbers. Thanks for the great analysis! Good luck with your plans (and I'm rooting for Drupal, of course...)

Interesting analysis, and there I was thinking I would only look at Joomla!
I think I had better go take a good look at Drupal now, the extra effort might be well worth it for my sites.

Thanks
